Nobel Laureate Lectures At AIT

Nobel Laureate Prof. Dr. Heinrich Rohrer presented a lecture on 22 May on the topic, "Science and Technology on the Nanometer Scale: Challenges and Chances".

Prof. Rohrer is recognized for inventing the scanning tunneling microscope, together with Gerd Binnig. He was co-recipient of the King Faisal Prize and the Hewlett Packard Europhysics Prize in 1984. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1986. Prof. Rohrer received the Cresson Medal of the Franklin Insitute of Philadelphia, USA, in 1987 and was inducted to the US National Inventors Hall of Fame in 1994.
